The Roman Hills and Symposia 2024
From 20 July to 6 August 2024, Fides et Ratio gathered in Rome and Formello for an experience of learning and community life. The symposia brought faith, culture and current affairs together, alongside English lessons, prayer and opportunities to explore Italy’s historical heritage and reflect on the challenges facing society.
Understanding the present
The programme explored cultural and technological change, the future of young people, justice and Italy’s place in the world. Discussions of peace, international relations and agriculture broadened the perspective, connecting personal questions with the responsibilities of social and civic life and encouraging thoughtful engagement with contemporary issues.
Learning, heritage and community
English lessons, cultural visits and moments of prayer complemented the symposia. Exploring Italian history and Christian tradition formed part of the group’s shared daily life. Time together, friendship and reflection gave the educational experience a personal dimension, linking intellectual curiosity with the practical experience of living in community.
